This week's YOP, I'm happy with this one, it was a pain during the first hour but then, when I realized I wanted to trhow it to the paper bin and started to add things just to try effects it flew easily. Want to redo it in the future, if I do I'll change 3 things: that dark areas, the granulating effect of the sky, and the shape of that tree in the right, wich is rather flat at the top;
this is the fisrt YoP I'm happy with the results, but can't enjoy the feeling 'cos my friend already show me the next one, ewwww!

"You'll just be sitting there... and then they'll come... crawling up your leg... and bite the inside of your ass. And then you'll be like 'Ey! Get out of my ass you stupid rainbow!'"
Love the clouds!!! Always wondered exactly how to do clouds with watercolor! O.o

If I don't consider you human, I will refer to you as a "thing"... that's because I'm socially maladjusted.
So... you're actively painting to learn and getting recognition??? That is the coolest thing I've ever heard of! How can I contribute??

My optimism aside- Your work shows a lot of manual dexterity. You're confident with the motion you've set to your wrist, into brush, and finally onto the canvas (paper... whatever). There's very little stroke conflict.

I see where your improvements will help and why you feel you should make them. You're dead on with those instincts.

I think the tree-tops, dark areas closest to your sun, need to have skylight reflections to really be put into position.
That's the only real artistic critique I can give but take this as a compliment (because it is :D):

Where you could have put pure technique and photorealism you have placed an order to the painting in the form of style.

Peace P.S. The only thing without the style is the railing... I just don't see it. ACK! I'll stop busting your balls now.
 very nice... a little desaturated for my taste, but very nice indeed :)

I am not afraid to die, but I am terribly, terribly afraid to not live."
Wow the only thing that comes to mind is that i want just something more in it..... maybe like a single bird in the sky or a person something...... it looks like it's a background that is just waiting for something....... like you haven't finished it

but i'll shut up now ^^; i like this

baby i am going to bed now
to write a million pieces of my wind blown soul

unknown everlasting force of nature i

wow...that's really beautful. I actually like the way the sky looks in this...it's a very impressionistic work with a dark, dreamy quality. Very nicely rendered. Kudos.

When one has dealings with scholars and artists it is easy to miscalculate in opposite directions: behind a remarkable artist one not infrequently finds a mediocre man, and behind a mediocre artist often a very remarkable man.
